kitten teeth?

I took my cat to the vet yesterday (5 months old) and he said that for her age, her teeth didnt look too good and she had bad breath. He didn't really offer a solution though. What could cause that, and what can I do to fix it?
Answers:
It could be inherited. Is she eating dry or wet "out of a can" food? Did the vet say the teeth were brittle or decaying or underdeveloped? That will make the difference on your food choice. A few cats will tolorate toothbrushing, but most hate it.
I wish you luck. Love your cat, toothless or not and your cat will love you back.
brush the cats theeth,
Take her to another vet.
you should probably go to a different vet that one doesnt seem too helpful.
why did't you ask him?
That can be related to her genetic inheritance. My brother and I got "marshmallow" teeth from our ancestors and dental expenses were a constant in our lives from day one.

Most of my six cats require a dental cleaning every year. One cat, who of course eats the same food as the others, has never needed a cleaning in all of her thirteen years. Another cat doesn't require it every year, maybe every two years.

Cats can do very well without any teeth. They can even eat dry food and of course canned food. So if she is going to have dental issues all her life at some point it may be prudent to remove her teeth.

Your veterinarian will be able to guide you in keeping her healthy.
