one of my kittnens eyes got really infected and now i have another kitten with an infected eye. it seems to be going around and i don't know what to do for it. people just drop these cats off and i don't have the money to take care of them. does anyone know what i can do for these kittens without taking them to them vet?

It sounds like they have the typical "kitty eye cold." Very easily cured, but highly contagious. You need a tube of kitty eye antibiotic ointment for them. It's about 8 bucks a tube, and you should be able to pick it up at any vet clinic or supply without having to take them all in.
Wash them daily..you can just use plain water.
give them a bath its usually eye mucus if thats not the case try to ask a friend thats good with animals or someone that owns a cat??

i had the same problem.. it usually goes away on its own.
just take time to clean it with some cotton balls with warm water.
If you have kids antibiotics try using less than what you would give a baby. And any baby's eye antibiotics just use less than what u'd give a baby. And thn clean it out like u would do with any other kid. My dad was a vet assistant, thats his advice. Hope it helps =)
OOHHH OOOHHH ! This could be cat flu..
I reared and had to hand feed 2 kittens. ( mind you they were from a feral cat ) .One ended up blind ( I kept him and hes lovely ) and the other lost one eye. !
If you cant afford a vet .. ! Find some one who can help you cuz the so called Humane society's put them down.. I had a fight to keep the kittens alive.
The other kitten I found a home for.
I would suggest bringing the kittens and any future cats that are dropped off to the nearest Humane Society where they can receive the care they need and have the possibility of being adopted.
You have stated that you don't have the money to take them to a vet, so from that one would assume that you won't have the money to have them spayed and neutered once they are mature. For that reason alone, they really should be taken to the humane society.
Depending on the vet, they may just be willing to sell you an eye ointment that will take care of the problem pretty easily, and you may not have to pay for an appointment. The ointment itself isn't very expensive, but you do have to apply it a few times daily. At least call a vet and explain your situation, and see if he/she has any tips for you.
Also, please don't let it go too long. While most cases do clear up quickly, I've seen some neglected cats have it turn into something pretty nasty.

I had the same problem. We have strays and they all had kittens within a few days. We had about 20. They all got an eye infection from the others and everyone of them died. I didn't have the money to take them to the vet. I washed the eyes everyday of each kitten, but nothing worked. My mom, who has delt with this before said it was actually a respitory infection. The eyes kept crusting over and when I would clean it off with warm water, puss would come out. The only kittens that didn't get it were the ones too wild to pet. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.
considering their age the best thing you can do for them is a warm washcloth applied to the eye to clean it then use another wash cloth with warm water just to soothe the eye area keep it clean and do this as often as necessary
