Kittens drinking milk??

I was told that kittens will die from regular milk. I just took my kitten off milk and she's now eating dry kitten food. Do you think she'll be o.k.? She's barely 6 weeks old.
Answers:
Some cats (not all) are lactose intolerant like some people. With a kitten you don't want to use cow's milk as there is the possibility of severe diarrhea which can be life-threatening for a youngster such as you have.

Kittens really love canned meat so a totally dry diet is not good for the kitten. She should have a can of something like Natural Balance once a day and the dry to nibble on while she is growing.

Don't buy Fancy Feast, Whiskas, Iams, Purina or any other grocery store crap for her.

Wellness, Natural Balance, Eagle Pack, Innova Evo are all quality products with wholesome, natural meat in them.
yes she will be perfectly fine if you are worried you can get milk replacement for small kittens at walmart or petsmart and give it to her once or twice a day until you wean her but the kitten food should be fine, but yes regular milk is not good for her digestive system wont make her die but give her upset stomach and diarehea
kittens shouldnt be drinking milk so you did the right thing you should try giving her soft food also so she can get all the nutrients she needs
my cat never died from cow milk.where did you hear that?
Many people drop their unwanted kittens and cats at the dairy farm. Could be because milk is readily available? No, I wouldn't worry. Good luck!
kittens can get diarrhea from cow milk, and that can dehydrate and kill them.u can buy specially prepared cans of milk for orphan kittens at wal-mart and most pet shops.if not in the us,im sure other countries have these available as well.call any vet and ask if they have it,if ur not near a shop that carries it.dry or wet kitten food can be used ,definately. u can use food and canned cat milk.good luck, dont worry, ive raised younger kittens that way.
She will be fine, but if she is eating kitten food that's wonderful, she will get her nutrients from the dry food and hydration from water. There is a special milk sold at pet supply stores for kittens who are not getting milk from their mothers, but the most I have heard cats getting from cow milk is worms or diarrhea. Diarrhea is dangerous if not controled immediately, but if that's not happening, your fine.

Your doing the right thing, getting her on a dry food diet.

Good luck!
I'm not a big cat fan but I wouldn't want to see any animal get sick for no reason and I do know about them so here's my advise.A six week old kitten is still too Young for dry kitten food verses a can of kitten food, at least for4 more weeks. A kitten isn't even done nursing on mama cat for 8 weeks so if you got this one early, use wet, canned kitten food for awhile longer. Also, reg. cows milk really isn't good for a cat let alone a kitten, I don't know about dying from it but it isn't good for them. If you need to use milk to wet the dry food, use goat or condensed milk watered down with about 2% water and this should do it. Hope this helps.:)
She will be fine, I never heard of milk killing anything. If you need to maybe be sure the food is small and maybe wet it some to soften but she will be fine. I would look out thought the next time you have cereal she may want some. :-)
THE KITTEN NEEDS MILK ANY KIND OF MILK IT WILL DRINK MILK IN TILL IT'S 7 WEEKS OLD . IT WILL BE FINE FEADING IT MILK IT NEEDS MILK
most cats don't digest cow milk well. If you are concerned about you cat gaining wait or getting enough nutrients, there are kitten milk supplements out there
I give my kitten milk now and then. He gets desperate for it sometimes. His momma was killed by a car when he was about three weeks old and he still (even at five months old) really seems to crave it sometimes. I never heard of cat dying from milk.

I don't think you should give them milk only. Kittens usually wean around 6-8 weeks. So it's probably time to get her onto regular food anyhow.

As long as she's growing with a nice healthy looking coat, she'll be fine.
