My 13 yr. old cat has decided to eliminate herself in my bedroom since moving into this new home last Dec. The

only way I can get her to use her litter box is to keep my door closed. Any ideas or reasons why she is doing this?
Answers:
She wants to kill herself?! Dear lord!

Seriously, though.a product called Comfort Zone may help. It uses a pheromone to reduce anxiety. She could be marking or just uncomfortable in the new place.

Keeping the door closed is an easy enough solution. Also, reward her whenever you see her using the litter box. Where is the litter box located? Maybe she would prefer it to be in a quiter place.
the room smells like you and she is marking it, i had a cat that did the same thing, just keep your bedroom door closed and it will be fine
She's mad! Probably not mad but more weirded out by being plopped into a strange, new place. Cats hate change. unless its a new toy! They have a thing about their 'territory' and their 'scent' too, when she rubs on you, she's marking you as hers, cats want everything to smell like them, and its all about marking territory from scratching to peeing and rubbing. Try more than one litter box and let her pick the place she prefers, make sure its secluded but easy for her to get to. Also, at 13 you may want to have her checked for a urinary tract problem.
I had the same problem with my son. Your cat is obviously upset with her new digs and is acting out by whizzing on your rug. Since you have now been in the house 10 months, your cat probably hates you. Send her back to the old house and let those owners deal with her. She sounds like a spoiled brat.
