Mommy cat quit feeding her babies?

We went away for a few days and our female cat quit feeding her babies. When we came home 1 baby was dead, and 2 more have died today (the last one in my arms). There is one left and I would like to save it. It is a month old and I've been giving it whole milk. Any ideas?

This isn't her first litter (just her last--we fixed the Dad) and she was fine with the other babies. We left her alone with the other litter and she didn't act like this. We tried holding her down for the babies to eat, but she still has her claws.
Answers:
It will be okay to offer the kitten tiny amount of mashed up tinned cat food. She is 4 weeks old so this should be fine. Offer this to her several times a day. Keep her warm. Make a bed for her in a quiet area and perhaps put a 'child safe' cuddly toy in with her to cuddle up to.

Make sure she is not in any draughts. Let her get plenty of sleep and when she's awake hold her close to you, if she is happy for you to do this.
tahts so sad.your cat might be depressed (yes they get that too)
If you can get to the vet and buy some divetilac or animalac, that will give your kitten a much better chance of survival.Whole milk isn't really good for baby animals and will most probably kill it.Your vet should also be able to give you a little bottle and teat for this.Keep the kitten in a box with a WARM hot water bottle under a blanket. The kitten will need feeding every 2-3 hours.Hope this helps.Good Luck.
awww.i feel so bad bad because one died in your arms.:[
