im helping a friend look for a kitten for his girlfriend for christmas. she has wanted one for a while and now they have their own house its the right time to get one. does anyone know of anyone whos cat is going to be having kittens and will be getting rid of them before christmas in the nottingham area??

no suggestions to get a cat from the rspca please.

Try the Kittenlist site . the adverts generally say when the kittens are ready to leave home %26 you can also search by location.

http://www.kittenlist.co.uk/

However, if he's willing to get her an early Christmas present then there are some moggie kittens available at the moment %26 a gorgeous cat called Snuggles( at the Animal Accident Rescue Unit in Nottingham) - see the links in source below or try searching under Cats on the Preloved site, using Nottingham as a key word.

If no good at the moment - I'd recommend searching Preloved or Kittenlist again, nearer the time that he wants the kitten. Good Luck
check your local pet shop
Most animal rescues shut down around the christmas period just for the fact Christmas is not the best time to give animals for presents. They might spend a lot of time out.or have parties.not the best start for a new kitten coming into the flat.sorry but just the way I feel about it.
hi there, y dont u ask the cat rescue center i did and they come round 2 your home 4 a visit and the next visit they bring u a kitten if u r suitable and you r rescuing 1.
thats much nicer people r making money from this and we shouldnt encourage this.
dont 4 get kittens grow up 2 b cats.
your best bet is to buy a turkey like everyone else , apart from being far more tasty your guests might complain if they see you carvin up a kitten
a dog is for christmas, not life
depending on what youre looking for my friend in codnor/derbys breeds persians and exotics if you wanted her number you will have to e-mail me and i will give it you. Also try EAST MIDLANDS ANIMAL RESCUE they are in eastwood/notts theyre not like rspca, they often have kittens. good luck
try the local vets, that way you know they will be healthy
what if it's not the kind of cat she wants? what if she want to pick a cat out her self? what if she wants to rescue a homeless animal? what if the cat is mean?

If I were her I would rather get a book about cats and be asked "so, which one would you like?" I would be disappointed if my boyfriend came home with a second cat instead of letting me pick one out for my self
remember a cat isn't just for christmas.

anyways ask your local vets - there was one that had been rescued at my local vets

or go to an animal rescue. its much better to give an abandoned one a home - she'll love it anyway.
There is a Cat Sacturary in Loughborough, the ladies number should be in Phone book, if not phone the local pets shops they have boards in their windows with these numbers on, and number of people who have kittens for sale. I had a cat from this sancuarary and I would recommend it.
